Dooable: South African software built from the daily reality of small business work

The Zanetti AI Institute wrote about Dooable, the work management platform built at HBS Software Solutions, and about Joshua Dickens, our Lead of Systems & AI Development, who built it.

The piece starts where the product did: small businesses do not struggle because the work is hard, but because it is scattered. Projects sit in one tool, support tickets in another, customer history somewhere else and meeting notes in an inbox. That was our own problem before it was a product, and the platforms we tested each solved a part of it while pricing the whole thing in dollars.

Dooable brings projects, tasks, service desk, CRM, calendar, chat, meeting notes, knowledge documents and shared assets into one workspace, so a ticket knows its customer and a task knows its project. It is developed in South Africa, priced in rand and supported by a South African team.

The Institute's wider point is one we share: technology is worth something when it is structured around real business needs rather than presented as innovation for its own sake.
